What does it mean to create a vision of who you want to be? Proverbs 29:18 says, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Vision is crucial because it gives us direction and purpose. Without it, we wander aimlessly. The quote "Create a vision of who you want to be, and then live into that picture as if it were already true."
Imagine the person you want to become. What qualities do they possess? How do they act? What impact do they have on the world? Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." With God's help, we can become the person we envision.
Live into that picture as if it were already true. This is where faith comes in. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Living into your vision means acting as if you've already achieved it, even if you can't see it yet.
James 2:17 tells us, "Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." It's not enough to just have a vision; we must take action. Start by setting small, achievable goals that align with your vision. Celebrate each step forward, no matter how small.
Think about David, who was anointed to be king long before he actually took the throne. He faced many challenges, but he lived into his vision by trusting God and taking action. Psalm 37:5 says, "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act."
how can you create and live into your vision? Here are three practical steps:
1. Pray and Seek God's Guidance: Proverbs 3:5-6 advises, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
2. Write Down Your Vision: Habakkuk 2:2 says, "Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it." Writing it down makes it tangible and actionable.
3. Take Consistent Action: Galatians 6:9 encourages us, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Remember, creating a vision and living into it is a journey. It requires faith, action, and perseverance. But with God's help, you can become the person you were created to be. As Ephesians 3:20 reminds us, "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us."
So, get up make today count and live into who you are.
