The Gate — J Calaway — Make Today Count -- Faith Becomes Bold
“Faith becomes bold when God’s voice is louder than our fear.”
Big Idea
Fear has a voice—but so does God.
Bold faith grows when God’s Word becomes louder than fear.
Prayer is how we turn down fear and tune in to God.
Key Scriptures (NLT)
Romans 10:17 — “Faith comes from hearing… the Good News about Christ.”
Isaiah 41:10 — “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.”
2 Timothy 1:7 — “God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
Psalm 56:3 — “But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.”
1 Samuel 17:45 — “I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies…”
Philippians 4:6–7 — “Pray about everything… Then you will experience God’s peace…”
David & Goliath: Bold Faith in Action
Goliath was loud; Israel was intimidated.
David had learned God’s faithfulness before the battlefield.
David’s confidence wasn’t in size, armor, or skill—it was in God’s name (1 Sam. 17:45).
Prayer + God’s Word made God’s voice louder than fear’s threats.
Practical Challenge
Pray before you panic (Phil. 4:6–7).
Speak God’s truth out loud when fear shouts.
Take one obedient step you’ve been delaying.
Takeaway:
Fear may be loud
God is greater.
When God’s voice gets louder
Faith gets bolder.
