The Gate — J Calaway — Make Today Count
“Hope doesn’t deny reality—Hope declares God’s greater reality.”
Truth: Hope isn’t pretending things are perfect — it’s choosing God’s perspective.
HOPE SEES CLEARLY
We don’t deny what’s happening:
Bills are real
Doctor reports are real
Stress is real
Pain is real
But hope adds another layer: God is greater.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLE: ABRAHAM
Romans 4:18 — “Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed.”
His reality: old age, impossible circumstances.
God’s greater reality: “You will be the father of many nations.”
Hope = choosing God’s word over circumstances.
GOD’S REALITY IS ALWAYS BIGGER
Your reality may say:
“I’m tired.”
“I don’t see answers.”
“The year has been tough.”
God’s greater reality says:
“My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
“I am working all things for your good.”
“I will make rivers in the desert.”
HOPE IS A DECLARATION
Speak God’s truth over your situation.
Not ignoring the storm — declaring who controls it.
Faith-filled declarations shift atmosphere:
“God is still faithful.”
“This isn’t the end.”
“Breakthrough is coming.”
“God’s promise is stronger than this problem.”
MAKE TODAY COUNT
Face your reality — but don’t bow to it.
Let God’s greater reality be your anchor.
Tell them:
Look at the situation
Then look at God
Then decide which reality you will declare
Make Today Count…make the choice to speak God’s greater reality and watch hope rise.
