The Gate — J Calaway — Make Today Count -- No Fences
“The wild heart answers to no fence and apologizes for no horizon.”
KEY TRUTHS
• God doesn’t build fences — people do. A fence is somebody’s opinion made out of wood and wire.
• Wild doesn’t mean reckless. The wild heart answers to no fence — but it answers to a Father.
• Your biggest dream is still smaller than God’s. He does immeasurably more than you can imagine.
LEADERSHIP REALITIES
• People watch where you graze. Fenced leaders build fenced teams, fenced families, fenced churches.
• A leader with a wild heart gives everyone around them permission to find the gate.
• You can please the fence-builders or serve the Horizon-Maker — you cannot do both.
PRESENT-TENSE CHALLENGES
• Whose voice built your fence? Whose hammer held the posts — and why are you still grazing inside it?
• Jeremiah tried to be tame — the fire shut up in his bones wouldn’t allow it. Neither will yours.
• Stop apologizing for a horizon you didn’t draw. God set that distance.
ACTION STEPS
• Name your fence out loud today — say who built it and when.
• Say the dream at full size — no shrinking, no “it’s probably crazy, but…” Once to God, once to a person.
• Take one unapologetic step past the fence line before you sleep tonight.
SCRIPTURES: Isaiah 54:2 • Jeremiah 20:9 • Galatians 1:10 • Genesis 12:1 • Ephesians 3:20
You were never bred for the pasture. Find the gate — and make today count: better than yesterday, not near as good as tomorrow.
