The first victory is the victory of conquering your self. That is the first level of leadership—leading yourself. You will never be able to reach any higher level of leading until you first lead yourself. It is the parent who says do what I say not what I do that will not lead for very long. The ability to put your desires in check to see others advance. To lay down your appetites to take up the virtues that transcend self preservation and instant gratification. It is Jesus asking Peter, “Do You Love Me…” to be restored to the place God has for him. (John 21:15
