The Gate — J Calaway — Make Today Count — Mr. Moon

Jun 27, 2025    J Calaway

The Moon is Full once a month and the wolves, Coyotes, and some dogs howl. The Moon keeps reflecting the light of the sun.

The moon’s job is simple—it reflects the sun’s light. It doesn’t generate its own glow, but it faithfully mirrors what’s given to it.

In the same way, as believers, we’re called to reflect the light of Christ. (John 8:12)

when you shine, not everyone’s going to cheer. Some will howl. Critics, naysayers, or even those closest to you might misunderstand or push back. Just like the wolves howling at the moon, their noise can feel loud, intimidating, or discouraging. Maybe it’s a coworker who mocks your faith, a friend who questions your choices, or even your own doubts barking in the quiet moments. The temptation is to dim your light, to shrink back, to blend into the darkness so the howling stops.

But the moon doesn’t do that, and neither should we. (Philippians 2;15)
