The Gate — J Calaway — Make Today Count

Oct 24, 2025    J Calaway

Prayer is not about moving God closer to us, but moving our hearts closer to Him.”

Point 1: God Is Constant — Prayer Changes Us

James 1:17 — God does not change like shifting shadows.

Hebrews 13:5 — “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

God hasn’t moved; prayer repositions our hearts to sense His nearness.

Prayer shifts us from panic to peace, from worry to worship.

Point 2: Prayer Aligns Our Hearts With God’s Will

Luke 22:42 — “Not my will, but Yours be done.”

Prayer isn’t about manipulating God’s hand—it’s about molding our heart.

When we pray in surrender, we begin to see through God’s perspective.

Alignment with God’s will brings peace, clarity, and confidence.

Point 3: Prayer Draws Us Into Deeper Relationship

Psalm 145:18 — The Lord is near to all who call on Him in truth.

Exodus 33:11 — God spoke to Moses face-to-face, as a friend.

Prayer is not a transaction; it’s transformation through relationship.

The closer we move toward Him, the more His peace and presence fill our lives.

Challenge

Before you ask God for anything today, pause and let prayer draw your heart closer to His.

Make today count—by connecting, not convincing; by aligning, not striving.
