Lessons in life will be repeated until they are learned. The story of Moses in the wilderness for 40 years can be inspiring or it can be disconcerting. The reason is that the journey to the promised land in the story is only an 11 day walk. Seeing the wilderness for what it is causes us to ask, Why? 40 years, 4 decades, one generation. Because the lesson wasn’t learned and the it was repeated over and over and over until it was learned. One generation had to die before the next generation could move on.
