“What Are You Afraid of Losing When Nothing in The World Actually Belongs to You?”
We all have fears of loss. Maybe it’s your job, your relationships, your health, or even your stuff—like that new phone or dream house.
First, let’s name those fears. possessions because they give us security. But Scripture reminds us in, Everything—your car, your home, even the air we breathe—belongs to God. We’re stewards, not owners. So why cling so tightly? (Psalm 24:1)
Or take relationships. Losing a loved one? Heartbreaking. Job lost everything—family, wealth, health—but he recognized it was all from God. Nothing is permanently ‘mine.’ This doesn’t mean we don’t grieve; it means we don’t let fear paralyze us. (Job 1:21)
Success or status? We fear failure stripping us bare. All our achievements? We can’t pack them in a suitcase for eternity. (Matthew 6:19)
Fear of loss stems from illusion—thinking we own what we don’t. But if nothing belongs to us, loss isn’t theft; it’s a return to the true Owner. This shifts everything. Instead of fear, we find gratitude for the temporary gifts. Pause and think: What are you afraid of losing right now?
daily surrender. Each morning, pray: ‘God, everything I have is Yours. Help me hold it loosely.’ Practice generosity—give away what you fear losing, like time or resources. It builds eternal treasure.
focus on what lasts: Faith, love, character. Invest in people, not things. When fear creeps in, recall those verses. They’re not just words; they’re anchors. I’ve tried this—letting go of control over my plans—and it brought peace I didn’t know possible. You can too. Today, identify one thing you’re clinging to. Release it mentally. Watch fear fade.”
What are you afraid of losing when nothing actually belongs to you? It’s a call to freedom, not despair. Scripture shows us the way—through trust in the One who owns it all. Make Today Count by living lightly, loving deeply, and fearing less.
