The Gate — J Calaway — Make Today Count -- Bold Faith in the Quiet

Bold Faith in the Quiet

“When everything is quiet and God feels silent, bold faith doesn’t panic—it stays planted, trusting that the same God who speaks is also working.”

Big Idea

Quiet seasons can feel confusing, but silence isn’t proof God is absent.

Bold faith stays steady—planted, not panicked—while God works behind the scenes.

Key Scriptures (NLT) — New Set

Psalm 62:1–2 — “I wait quietly before God… He alone is my rock and my salvation…”

Lamentations 3:25–26 — “The Lord is good to those who depend on him… it is good to wait quietly…”

Psalm 130:5 — “I am counting on the Lord… I have put my hope in his word.”

Hebrews 6:12 — “Follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.”

Romans 8:28 — “God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God…”

Holy Week Wednesday: The Quiet Day (No Public Record)

The Gospels don’t describe a major public action of Jesus on Wednesday—it’s often called a “quiet” day.

Yet Scripture shows behind-the-scenes activity happening in that window:

Matthew 26:3–5 — religious leaders gathered and plotted to arrest and kill Jesus.

Matthew 26:14–16 — Judas arranged the betrayal.

No record doesn’t mean no movement.

What looked quiet on the surface was actually setting up what God had already planned.

What Bold Faith Does in Quiet Seasons

Waits on God, not on feelings (Ps. 62:1–2)

Holds hope in God’s Word (Ps. 130:5)

Chooses endurance over panic (Heb. 6:12)

Trusts God is working it for good (Rom. 8:28)

Waits quietly without quitting (Lam. 3:25–26)

Practical Challenge (Today)

Name your “quiet” area (direction, healing, provision, breakthrough).

Speak this daily: “God may feel silent, but He is still working.”

Take one “planted” step:

pray for 5 minutes

read one Psalm

worship one song

obey the last thing God told you

reach out to someone for encouragement

Takeaway

Quiet seasons are often root seasons.

Bold faith stays planted—because God is still working.
